This project was for the design of a new community of 35 detached houses on the grounds of an old hospital on the slopes of the eastern Ochil Hills. The house plots have been arranged on the south facing slope to exploit the views and the natural surroundings adjacent to them, interacting with waterways, fields and woodlands. The individual houses are based on similar design principles whilst allowing flexibility and adaptability by the individual homeowners, and with each positioned on its plot to maximise its relationship with its surroundings, for example, the large south-facing gardens also give access into the parkland beyond.
